The main purpose of this conversion is to add a dependable fan that is balanced and requires no maintenance. The original Ford fans are prone to catastrophic failure which usually results in a fan blade breaking off and ruining the radiator or hood of the car.
I wish the design of the fan was closer to original, but when the hood is down it isn't seen. The overall diameter of the modern fan is the same as original.
